The World Wide Situation

The largest challenge on our planet is the supply of clean drinking water for each human being.

Dirty, respectively contaminated water and missing supply of clear drinking water is a world-wide and ever more increasing crisis for the health. The right of humans to clear drinking water is a fundamental pre-condition for surviving. Studies of the World Health Organization (WHO) prove, that approximately 5 million humans, above all small children, die each year because of lacking water supply respectively by drinking water contaminated with bacteria or viruses. Approximately 2.5 billion humans get sick each year by contaminated water. More than 1.2 billion humans have no supply of clean drinking water at all.

A study report of the United Nations (UN) points out that because of the constantly growing inconceivable climatic changes with disasters most likely resulting from it in the year 2050 a dramatic water scarceness is to be expected. During the UN conference in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, 178 nations agreed on the common goal, to supply the entire population of the world with untouched clean and high-quality drinking water. An estimation according to the UNESCO shows, that only 0.0075% of the world-wide water supplies is clean water, but it is neither fairly distributed nor evenly accessible to everyone.
